Blue Ridge Mountain Wedding Day – Jessica and Zach 3.23.19

Couples who march to the beat of their own drum, are my favorite kind of couples.  And I suppose, now, I can say that Hubble telescope themed weddings (yes, you read that right!), are my favorite kind of weddings!    Most of our GHI couples know that our big wedding planning appointment is one of my favorite parts of the entire process!  I love it when couples arrive carrying mysteriously shaped bags and boxes and pull out the most amazing inspiration pieces to show me.  But this theme was a level of genius I hadn’t seen yet…it was, (don’t do it, don’t go there… I HAVE TO…) out of this world!!!  Inspired by the amazing pictures of the universe, taken by the hubble telescope, our amazing bride Jessica and her wonderful groom Zach designed a beautiful and unique wedding theme.  Fuschia, purple, teal and pinks swirled together in the reception room to create a lovely backdrop for this spring wedding day.  Instead of table numbers, each table had a space themed name.  Even the wedding favors matched the theme…gorgeous silver dipped rock candy sticks (you’ll see them below – they were so pretty!).  This was a day full of fun and surprises.  My favorite part of the day was our adventure to the mountains which were unexpectedly snow covered.  Only a small portion of the Skyline Drive was open that day (the entire length had been closed earlier in the day due to snow and ice), but we were able to access a small overlook.  I glanced down at my ballet flats, and then to Zach’s shiny dress shoes, and Jessica’s gorgeous retro styled heels – and thought to myself…yes, we are definitely not prepared for this – but the spirit of adventure was strong – and we climbed and stumbled thru the snow for some truly epic wedding photos!  Jessica even managed a few shots without her coat – you’d never tell how cold it was from her beautiful smile!  It took all 3 of us the entire ride back to the venue to warm up, but it was worth it!  A delicious dinner (including the bride’s favorite – Spaghetti!) was followed by cake and dancing.  We loved every moment of this wedding day, spent with wonderful folks who traveled from far and wide to celebrate with Jessica and Zach.  I can’t wait for you to see some of my favorite photos from this unforgettable day…

Congratulations to the happy couple from the entire GHI family – we think your wedding day was out of this world! – xoxo Heather
