Sweet Valentines Wedding – Cheryl and Rich 2.16.19

I pulled into my regular parking spot at the Golden Horseshoe Inn and hopped out of the car.  My dad (and our GHI Officiant) Alan was just pulling out, headed home for lunch.  He stopped behind me, idling in the road, and rolled down his window.  We often chat in the parking lot like this…about a broken door handle, or what color flowers to choose for the garden, or to leave the taps running in case the water freezes.  But today his expression was serene, and a little smile played on his face.  “That was something really special yesterday, wasn’t it” he simply said.  And it was.  Sharing wedding days with couples is the most amazing experience.  So moving, and personal, to see a family join together.  To see a beloved sister wipe away tears as she watches her little sister say her wedding vows.  To witness the love and attention and time poured into hand lettering an envelope for a precious daughter and new son-in-law.  We truly get to take part in some amazing days together, my dad and I.  Cheryl and Rich’s wedding was one of those days.  Honestly, I am struggling for words a little, to describe to you the beauty of their day.  There was something special in the air… an unusual calmness, a serene feel from the moment they arrived.  Our Bride Cheryl, was more than stunning.  She was so sweet – joyfully taking in the details around her, which can be hard to do on a wedding day, but she was so fully present and her calm, happy demeanor was such a pleasure to be around.  As Cheryl and her amazing daughter Bella had their hair and makeup done, Rich got comfy in the groom’s suite and settled in to a good book!  He was also so calm and zen and ready for the day!  My only regret is that I didn’t get to hear his Beatles impression (His bride may or may not have shared with me that he does all 5 voices to hilarious perfection!).  Their ceremony was so lovingly created, with a very special emphasis on including 8 year old Bella.  Cheryl and Rich each shared heartfelt vows with Bella, as well as each other, and presented her with a beautiful necklace of 3 interwoven circles, to represent their new family.  Bella also did a wonderful job with her special reading during the ceremony.  Cheryl and Rich chose the perfect color scheme for a wedding taking place the week of Valentines day!  Pewter gray, softened with ivory lace and apple red accents.  Monique and I had such fun setting up their reception space and arranging everything just so!  I have been working with my new camera gear since November, and can honestly say that I couldn’t be more pleased with it!  And I couldn’t have asked for more beautiful, natural, head over heels in love subjects, than the beautiful family you’re about to see.  I hope you love this little sneak peek into Cheryl and Rich’s wedding day…

Every girl should have someone who looks at her like this!

A big congratulations to the newlyweds from the entire GHI family!

xoxo – Heather
