-Our venue is located directly off of Route 33. Make sure GPS doesn't take you on the back roads. GPS can be somewhat unreliable in the mountains.
We are located 30 minutes from either Harrisonburg, Virginia or Charlottesville, Virginia. Both are large-ish college towns with plenty of restaurants and hotels!

If you are travelling West on Route 33:
Follow US-33 W. and pass the town of Stanardsville. The road will narrow and you will climb some winding foothills. We are the next left after the Lydia Log Cabin building with the Red Tin Roof. Turn LEFT onto VA-625/GOOSE POND RD take an immediate right into our parking lot.
If you are travelling East on Route 33:
After passing the Swift Run Gap entrance to Skyline Drive, you will begin to descend the mountain. You will pass a sign stating “You are now leaving Shenandoah National Park.” Take the next Right onto Rt. 625/Goose Pond Road. Take a Right into our Parking lot on Golden Horseshoe Rd.

Couples do not need a liquor license unless they are selling the alcohol to their guests eg: a cash bar. Our staff will refill your beverage tubs as needed, but does serve the alcohol - guests may self-serve, or couples may hire a bartender through their caterer if desired. We have a cute bar to display your wine.
do we need to get an abc License?
Couples are welcome to provide their own alcohol. We will provide wine glasses, champagne flutes, bottle openers, beverage tubs, and ice. (Most of our couples find that buying their own alcohol at Sam's club or Costco etc, is much more affordable than purchasing it through their caterer). Beer, Wine, Champagne and very limited hard liquor are permitted
Can we Bring our own Alcohol?
Yes! You are welcome to use your own officiant of minister if you prefer. (An on-site officiant is included in your package.) We do not offer a price reduction should you choose to bring your own officiant, but we will welcome them to the venue and make sure to answer any questions they have!

Anytime 11am. or after. Your wedding planner will help you map out your day and choose a suitable arrival time. Couples needing additional time onsite in the morning may purchase up to two extra hours for $50 per hour. Additional Evening hours are not available to purchase
what time may we arrive on the day of our event?
You can check out our AVAILABLE DATES at any time to find the perfect one for you. Dates are booked on a first come first served basis. Due to the number of couples interested in a Golden Horseshoe Wedding, we are sorry that we are not able to "hold" dates.
how far in advance can I book my date?
Up to 70 guests Maximum. This includes members of your wedding party (excluding wedding couple). Babies under age 2 are not counted in your guest count. Ages 2 and over are included in your guest count.
how many guests do you accommodate?
Linens are included in your package. Our table cloths are floor length white/ivory polyester.. Coordinating Chair Sashes, Napkins and Overlays are available in 80+ colors. Ironing and Set up are also included in your package! Most couples choose their colors from our samples during their onsite planning meeting.
are linens included?
Yes! We think this makes your wedding day much more relaxed. We recommend arranging a suitable date the week before your wedding to drop off any decorations, beverages, apparel, favors etc. Drop off appointments are scheduled to last a maximum of 1 hour. Additional drop off time can be purchased for $50/ hour if you need an extended time onsite to set up / unload
Can we drop things off ahead of time?
Yes! We have a wonderful PROP INVENTORY for our couples to borrow for no additional charge. Couples are also welcome to provide their own decorations. We find most couples use a mix of our things and their own, and end up bringing about 3 tupperware totes of decor on average.
Do You provide Decorations? Can we Bring our own?
Couples may choose any caterer they wish. Drop off packages (where the caterer drops off food ready to serve, but does not stay onsite) are allowed. Self catering or pot luck style are not allowed. You can see our suggestions for local caterers HERE
Can we Choose any caterer? Can We self Cater?
Most of our couples choose to use the food provided in the package as their cocktail hour fare, and hire a caterer to provide or drop off a dinner meal. Tea party style events not serving dinner conclude at 6pm. Events serving dinner are extended until 8pm. Suggestions for local caterers can be found HERE
How Does catering Work?
Our Boutique Wedding package includes everything needed for an afternoon tea party style event. We provide: Lemonade, Sweet Tea, Coffee, Ice Water, Sparkling Apple Cider for the toast, Wedding cake, and light refreshments such as: Veggie & Dip Tray, Seasonal Fruit Tray, Cheese & Cracker Tray, Spinach Artichoke dip & Pita chips, Mini Pastry selection, Mozzarella wrapped in Italian meats. Deli spirals or mini sliders.
what are the light refreshments you provide?
Stephen Tusing provides our in house Cinematography package. This package includes up to 6.5 hours of onsite filming, creation of a "Wedding Highlight Film" (average run time about 8 minutes) with fully licensed music and beautifully edited. Delivered within about 6 weeks of your wedding day via secure download. Raw footage is not provided.

Heather Tusing provides our in house photography package. Coverage of your entire event is included from arrival at the venue through your send off. All images are beautifully edited and delivered to you via secure digital online gallery, within about 3 weeks of your wedding day. A print release is included so couples may print and share as they wish. Examples HERE!

are you LGBT Friendly?
The first floor and wedding deck are handicapped accessible. The second floor suites are not due to the historic nature of the building.
is the venue handicapped accessible?
Yes! Golden Horseshoe couples can choose from a variety of Cake flavors, filling flavors, icing flavors and design styles. A cake tasting appointment is not included in our package to keep things simple and keep costs as low as possible for you. You can read all about our cakes and your choices HERE
can we personalize our wedding cake?
Yes. Our floral package is perfect for a couple who wants pretty flowers, in a specific color scheme. Most couples give us their likes and dislikes (eg: I love Hydrangea, please don't include any lilies) and their color scheme - eg: White / Ivory /Blush with some greenery. And our florist takes it from there. Couples who prefer a more hands on approach can decline our floral package (we'll refund it from your bill) and provide their own!

Wedding dates are booked on a first come, first served basis, when a contract and retainer are returned for a date.
When you are ready to book, fill out our READY TO BOOK A DATE FORM, and we'll confirm your date is available.
We'll immediately email over a secure link where your retainer can be paid, and a Contract for you to each sign electronically.
Once both your contract and retainer have been received by us, your reservation is complete.
We'll email over a receipt and a detailed wedding planning packet so we can get started helping you create an amazing day!
A few things to note:
- A $500 non refundable retainer is required to book your date
- This retainer fee is deducted from your final amount due
- Your final payment is due 3 weeks prior to your wedding date
- Dates are booked on a first come, first served basis
- Due to the number of couples considering a Golden Horseshoe Wedding, we regret we are not able to "hold" dates

- Saturday Elopements can be booked up to 12 weeks in advance
- There is no minimum requirement for booking an elopement, short notice elopements are just fine with us
