Our beautiful bride-to-be Janice and her handsome fiancé Zach met up with me for some beautiful engagement portraits. The days and hours leading up to our session included several unexpected obstacles (an allergic reaction a few days before our scheduled session and a great big thunderstorm just moments before we were scheduled to meet) and little did we know it would end with one of the most magical experiences I’ve ever had on Skyline Drive. Prior to this session, I have had 2 all-time favorite photos in my career, and both were taken after a rain storm. There is something about a dramatic churned up sky that I just love. And this day had all the ingredients for my favorite photo recipe – a thunderstorm, a churned up sky, and thick mist rising up the mountains from the valley floor. Oh, it was beautiful. And when we were done taking photos we all admired the sunset view out the car windows as we wound our way back along the Skyline Drive. The overlooks were packed with labor day weekend tourists enjoying the sunset. As we rounded the last bend, we saw an overlook with just enough space left for my car to fit, and decided to jump out to simply admire the view. The mist rising up into the beams of the setting sun was truly the most amazing natural wonder I have seen in my life. “Do you guys want to do a few more shots?” Well, thank goodness Janice and Zach were on board, because we didn’t know it yet, but I was about to take the favorite photo so far of my career. Spoiler alert – it’s the last photo in this post and it is MAGIC. And top it off, Janice and Zach are everything I dream of when it comes to my clients – kind and enthusiastic, beautiful people inside and out, and so much fun to get to know! This was an incredible evening, and I am so excited to share this little sneak peek of Janice and Zachary’s Skyline Drive Engagement session…
Congratulations to the our bride and groom to be!
We simply can’t wait for your wedding day.
