Joanna and Andrew were married on a perfect autumn day in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We worked with this sweet couple for a year to plan their special day, so by the time their wedding day was here, they felt like friends not clients. This outdoorsy couple loves to hike and explore, and I think their wedding day suited them perfectly! Due to a wedding schedule that ran completely on-time (yay!!!!) we had lots of time to take beautiful photos on the mountaintop. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a couple climb rocks as quickly as Joanna and Andrew did (one of the advantages of wearing cowboy boots under your gown!) and I scrambled up to follow them and had such fun shooting from amazing angles I don’t normally get to use! Back at the Golden Horseshoe Inn, guests enjoyed a very festive fall color scheme of Burnt Orange and Deep Purple. Pumpkins and fall touches graced the tables, along with sparkling lanterns and centerpieces hand made by the bride (we thought her coffee-can centerpieces were wonderful, and a little nod to the fact that our bride and groom love coffee!) After dinner it was time for a sugar overload, as guests enjoyed wedding cake, S’mores and a Purple and Orange Candy Buffet. There were so many special moments to capture, and I’m excited to share a few favorites below… enjoy!
Congratulations to the happy couple from the entire GHI family!
