A Wizard of Oz Inspired Wedding Day! Kristen and John 8.31.19

“A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others.” – L. Frank Baum The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

If you’ve visited me at the Golden Horseshoe Inn during the past year, I’ve probably told you about this wedding 🙂  I have been looking forward to it for months, since my very first meeting with Kristen and John!  This was the most gorgeous Wizard of Oz inspired wedding day – with all the perfect touches to bring the theme to life!  Jars of Strawberry jam wrapped in blue gingham – check!  Ruby Red slippers – check!  Wicker baskets – check!  A beautiful quote from L. Frank Baum as the guest book – check!  I just loved everything about this whimsical theme!  My favorite pale blue linen color that we offer is called “Serenity Blue” and that was the color our bride and groom choose for their linens, it was a little reminiscent of Dorothy’s famous dress, and when the gingham favors were added to the table – it was PERFECT!!!  We added in cheerful yellow napkins (a nod to the yellow brick road!) and the tables were then crowned with the most glorious “rainbow” of colors in the handmade centerpieces created by our bride Kristen.  She put so much time, thought and talent into creating all her wedding flowers (she also made the bouquets and boutonnieres!) and if you look closely, you’ll spy red poppies nestled in the arrangement…another little nod to the Wizard of Oz.  There are plenty more “easter eggs” to find in the wedding decor – and I’m so excited for you to take a look!  But first we have to talk about how amazing Kristen and John were.  Just the sweetest most thoughtful couple!  Kristen looked like a 1940’s movie star with her dark curls and red lipstick (my favorite kind of look!), and succeeded in bringing tears to her groom’s eyes with a sweet note exchanged just before the ceremony!  John was so helpful on the wedding day (we may have even had to shoo him out of the kitchen when he volunteered to help wash dishes…there may or may not be a photo of this as well!)  I know that August 31 is not the technical end of summer, but it always feels like it to me.  John and Kristen helped us end our best summer ever with a bang – thank you both for all your amazing creativity – it was a joy to see it all unfold!  Get yourself ready for a little technicolor magic…here are some of the prettiest pictures from this cheerful, made for the movies wedding day…

Congratulations to the happy couple!
