All Inclusive Virginia Elopement Blair & Walter 2.20.21

“Have you ever been to Louisiana?” the father of the bride asked me with a grin. He then proceeded to scroll through his camera roll, and pop up a video from the dashboard of his truck as it slowly made its way down a snow covered road. To say that everything came together in the nick of time for this special wedding day, is an understatement! We are so thankful that Blair and Walter’s wedding day went off without a hitch, because the days leading up to it were filled with uncertainty, as a winter storm blanketed parts of the USA that aren’t equipped to handle a storm…including Louisiana, where our bride Blair’s parents live. With their flight in jeopardy, we exchanged ideas and considered altered timelines to make sure all the guests would be able to attend. Our talented groom Walter is a professional pilot, and was even ready to jump in his plane to retrieve his future in laws if needed. If this all sounds like it was something out of an adventure movie, then the wedding day that followed was something from a classic romance. Suffice it to say, it all miraculously worked out! Blair was a simply breathtaking bride, and Walter was every ounce the dashing groom! Their small private ceremony, officiated by Walter’s childhood pastor, was simple and lovely. And photographing this stunning pair was a dream come true (despite Blair assuring me that she was camera shy!). We bravely made our way though the winter wind (popping inside to warm up from time to time with little breaks) and have the gorgeous images to prove it! Cake, and an unforgettable champagne toast followed, with time for everyone to celebrate together! This was the most wonderful day, that proved once again, its not about the dress (which by the way, was AH-MAZING), or the details, but it’s about the people you love, and the joy it brings to have them by your side.
