Unforgettable Virginia Wedding Day – Carlyn and Keith 7.20.19

The wedding of two high school sweethearts, who have known each other since Grade 9, what an incredible day this was!  Shaking voices, and eyes shining with tears, and thankful smiles, and bear hugs.  This was how each toast seemed to go.  I knew already that Carlyn and Keith were wonderful people.  But the amazing words…”Carlyn befriended me in high school and welcomed me into her group – it changed my life”..and “The conversations I have had with Keith have helped me find my place in the world…” went on and on.  These are two people who found each other and then went on to spread love and friendship together wherever they went!  Now it bears mentioning that Carlyn and Keith got married on the hottest day of the year – 100 degrees!!!  I wasn’t sure what would happen…but the day went off without a hitch!  Carlyn and Keith were troopers in the heat, and we had so much fun taking photos!  I loved the energy of Carlyn and Keith’s wedding party…including brides-man Michael, who even took part in the traditional getting ready “robe” shot (just wait to see it below!).  I loved the way Carlyn and Keith approached their wedding planning.  Some of the special items they provided were to make sure their guests were happy and comfortable.  “We’ve been to weddings before where we were hungry…so I baked cookies for each table in case someone needs a snack” Carlyn shared with me as she showed me the delicious cookies that would adorn each table.  Same goes for the adorable salt and pepper shakers that were placed on each table.  Carlyn and Keith have enjoyed learning to cook together, and have noticed that everything is better with salt and pepper!  Our sweet bride and groom also shared a special moment together early in the day when they exchanged personal letters just before their first look.  The emotion on their faces as they read those letters was one of my favorite moments of the day.  By sharing a first look, Carlyn and Keith were able to get posed photos out of the way prior to the wedding ceremony, which allowed them to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests!  I am so excited to share some favorite moments from this fantastic wedding day…

Mother of the bride Angie sewed “something old ,something new, something borrowed and something blue” into the underskirt of Carlyn’s wedding gown!

We love it when a bride has a “brides-man” in the mix!

I just love this “3 Generations” pic!

When you are a gorgeous and amazing couple – but don’t take yourselves too seriously!  See example above 🙂

Congratulations to the newlyweds from the entire GHI family!
