The Golden Horseshoe Inn was definitely in a New York state of mind for John and Kayla’s beautiful wedding day! So many guests traveled from out of town to be a part of this special day. Many came from New York, and we were charmed by their accents, and their deep love for one another. Our bride Kayla did the most amazing job with her planning. She kept so many details straight, and I could always count on a quick response from her during the planning process if any questions came up! She chose a color scheme of burgundy and platinum, with bright sunflowers adding a pop of color and giving a subtle rustic feel to the day’s festivities. She had such a good understanding of how one little detail, repeated throughout the decor, can really help create a unified feel to the decor…keep an eye out in the photos below for little pops of sunflowers in both the ceremony and reception spaces! Kayla and John also did a really wonderful job of creating an event where their guests could have fun and enjoy some special treats! Personalized koozies awaited guests at the bar, a thoughtful gift of wildflower seeds added a little pop of yellow to each place setting, and there was much excitement (especially from adorable flower girl Jamie!) about the opening of the Candy Buffet and S’mores stations. We loved watching Kayla and John together. Their vows were lovely, and their thoughtfulness extended even beyond their guests to the GHI staff. I have a new favorite mug, and our Officiant Alan does too (you can see a peek of his below, and catch a glimpse of mine on our GHI facebook page!!!) So a great big thank you goes out from our hearts to yours, for being such a great couple, with amazing friends and family, and for trusting us to host such a special day for you both! I am so excited to share a little sneak peek from this gorgeous summer wedding day in the Blue Ridge Mountains…
Congratulations to the newlyweds from the entire GHI family!
