Intimate Mountain Elopement – Andrea and Dennis 3.14.20

I always feel so sentimental about wedding photos – but these ones are especially getting me.  Maybe it’s because they feel like the “last good day”…before everything changed and the world got turned upside down a little.  Of course there will be lots more “good days”, but right now, I am so very thankful we got to share such a wonderful, intimate wedding day with Andrea and Dennis.  The way their eyes lit up when they glanced at each other…was the most amazing thing to see.  Over and over again throughout the wedding day, whether is was during our tromp through the forest and mountains, or during the cake cutting, or as family gathered around for a “pandemic toast” (where the glasses never actually touched each other)…these two would suddenly glance at one another at the exact same moment, and their faces would instantly light up in the most incredible way.  Andrea and Dennis seem like a match made in heaven, both filled with wanderlust and always ready for adventure.  One of their first dates was to try out “blacksmithing”…yes, like how pioneers made things out of iron!  Andrea also takes glass blowing classes, and when these two are not busy serving our country in the Navy (where they met!), you might find them tearing up the backroads on their matching (unintentional but so sweet!) motorcycles.  Andrea and Dennis are one heck of a good lookin’ couple, and were so much fun to photograph!  This was a beautiful day in every way and I am so excited to share some favorite photos from this incredible Virginia elopement…

The new “wedding hug” is the pandemic “elbow bump”…all the cool kids are doing it.

the shoe game was strong!

Congratulations to the happy couple from the entire GHI family!
