Intimate Virginia Wedding Venue – Ali and Jenny 8.8.20

“The key to happiness is Love” read the little tag on the skeleton key bottle openers nestled at each place setting. And gosh, there was so much of both…LOVE and HAPPINESS on Jenny and Ali’s wedding day. Ali and Jenny celebrated with joyful family and friends amidst a summery palette of clover green and ivory, with touches of purple. This wedding was so much fun to plan and set up. On the wedding day itself, I loved watching the bridal party and then the guests discover the beautiful reception room. Jenny and Ali’s color scheme, and decor was so inviting, there were lots of gasps of delight and more than a few happy tears at the sight of it. We loved Jenny and Ali’s record setting bridal party – there were many toasts and lots of special touches among them such as themed socks, personalized robes, and gorgeous sage green accessories and gowns. Guests were greeted with a very thoughtful welcome bag from the brides with a personalized mask (hey Pandemic, we see you!), mini hand sanitizer and fan. Each of our wonderful brides was a little anxious without their other half by their side…it was amazing to watch all those pre-wedding jitters melt away in just a moment, when they shared a “first look” and private gift exchange. “I’m so glad we did this…I just feel better when I’m with you” Jenny said to Ali after their first look. We dashed away on a secret photo adventure in the mountains while the bridal party continued getting ready and rehearsing. Ali and Jenny especially love nature, and trees, so we found some wonderful spots on the mountains for breathtaking photos. Upon our return to the venue, things were humming. Guests sipped lemonade, and took polaroid pictures for the wedding guest book. A meaningful ceremony was followed by lots of celebrating, dancing, dining and toasts. The entire GHI staff was so thankful to this group for how careful they were with wearing masks when indoors, unless seated at their guest tables. And outdoor group photos were done quickly, with masks taken down at the last moment for safety. I am so excited to share some favorite moments from this incredible wedding day…
