“You guys are our plan C” the father of the bride said a little wearily as he stepped inside the venue with his wife. Frank and Norizan were taking a venue tour on behalf of their incredible daughter Aisha, who, they shared with me, had already planned not one, but TWO weddings in her hometown of Boston, only to have the pandemic interfere with both original plans. It was time to simplify, to host a micro wedding in Virginia, and to make sure a wonderful wedding day finally happened for Aisha and Thomas! The Golden Horseshoe Inn was up for the challenge, and we got to work, planning long distance with Aisha and Thomas. And in the end, it all worked out, and we were able to host the most wonderful small wedding for this special couple. We met Aisha and Thomas the day before their wedding, nervously showing them everything we had set up on their behalf and hoping they would be delighted with the results. It was a gorgeous wedding. A simple color scheme of Ivory and Clover kept things light and airy. Elegant floral centerpieces graced each intimate, socially distanced table, and added a touch of blush. A tiny gift box, filled with a monogrammed cookie awaited each guest at their place setting. Aisha and her mom arrived early and shared some special moments together as they prepared for the day ahead. After hair and makeup were complete, the bridal party arrived for a quick walk thru and got ready for the big event! A personalized wedding ceremony (we LOVED all the greenery Aisha and Thomas provided for the ceremony space) was followed by cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed appetizers and a signature cocktail created by Frank, the father of the bride. And Aisha and Thomas joined me for some mountaintop photos (“take care of BOTH my babies” Frank called out jokingly to Thomas as we departed…the wedding couple had been loaned Frank’s Alpha Romeo Italian sports car for the photo shoot!) After a wonderful plated dinner, guests enjoyed wedding cake and a trip to the S’mores station. It was a day filled with so many lovely moments, and I am so excited to share a few favorites with you…
Congratulations to the happy couple!
