All Inclusive Virginia Wedding Shayla & Richard 8.2.20

A cool breeze. Teacups shining on the tables. Red roses mingling with greenery and tempered by their blush and ivory neighbors in a lush bouquet. It was simply the perfect August wedding day! Making it even more perfect were the lovely people who shared this special day. Our bride Shayla simply glowed. One of my daughters spied the computer as I worked on these photos and exclaimed “I think that is the prettiest wedding dress I’ve ever seen!”… layers and layers of soft fabric (including a layer with tiny polka-dots – my favorite!) that drifted so magically in the mountain breeze. Shayla was joined by her mother and sister in law as she prepared in the bridal suite. A love note from her groom was delivered to the bridal suite just before the ceremony began. Across the hall in the groom’s suite, Richard was helped by his brother (one of his 11 siblings!) as he prepared for the big day ahead. And downstairs in the main rooms of the Golden Horseshoe Inn, guests mingled and laughed and took polaroid pictures of one another for the adorable photo guest book. It was a joyful celebration in every way. After the ceremony and photos, guests enjoyed an afternoon tea together, and toasted the bride and groom. And as the newlyweds left the venue, they had to make their way through a shower of bubbles 🙂 Up on the mountain, we were greeted with cool air, and a glorious view. I loved the chance I got to chat with this amazing couple on our way to the mountaintop. It was perhaps the first time I’ve ever gotten to talk to a neuro-scientist (Shayla!) and a gifted math teacher (Richard!) – this is one smart (and beautiful!) couple. I am so excited to share some favorite moments from this incredible wedding day…
