We definitely needed more Kleenex.  All the Kleenex.  There were more happy tears at this wedding than I think I have ever seen 🙂  And that makes me happy (and a little teary!) too, because it means these people love each other so much.  It is hard to watch your children grow, and turn into adults with lives of their own.  And it is beautiful too.  And wondrous, the way the circle of life keeps moving forward.  I loved watching Bre’ and Kyle’s family and friends shower our sweet couple with love on their wedding day, as they stepped into the next chapter of their lives hand in hand.  The whole day felt like the beginning of something very special, and in some ways, a little bit of a goodbye as well.  To the way things used to be, to the childhoods of our bride and groom.  Best Man Jake, and Maid of Honor Trellie both perfectly captured our sweet couple in their speeches.  They spoke from the heart and filled the quiet reception room with love and memories.  And when the father of the bride spoke, I am pretty sure there was not a dry eye in the house, as he recounted the first day he looked into his newborn daughter’s eyes and all the days that have followed since.  Trust me, there was a lot of crying.  And there was a lot of laughing too, and jokes, and big smiles…and candy.  Bre’ and Kyle choose a color palette of ivory lace and accents of wisteria, sage and blush.  The perfect colors for a Spring Wedding in the mountains!  Our couple opted to provide their own wedding cake and bridal flowers, and we had the fun of creating a pastel themed Candy Buffet for their guests to enjoy.  There was a soft breeze (that turned into a wild wind at the top of the mountain… no need to worry about making the veil float!) and warm sunshine, and lots of memories made on this day.  I can’t wait to show you a few of my favorites…

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs! Love from the entire GHI team!

-xoxo Heather

Lavender and Lace Wedding Day – Bre’ and Kyle 4.27.19

One of the most delightful parts of my job is following the journey’s and successes of our Golden Horseshoe couples beyond their wedding days.  If you follow our blog (or have our brochure, on which beautiful Diana is our cover model!) you might recognize this dynamic duo (almost a trio!).  I have had the honor […]

“Have you ever been to Louisiana?” the father of the bride asked me with a grin.  He then proceeded to scroll through his camera roll, and pop up a video from the dashboard of his truck as it slowly made its way down a snow covered road.   To say that everything came together in the […]

I was so excited to meet our Bride Isabelle (and her sweet groom Charles too!).   Isabelle and Charles booked their elopement with us from afar, and we didn’t get to officially meet in person until their wedding day.  We planned details back and forth over email, and during the process I felt like we were […]

Kendra and Christopher were married amidst a snowy winter wonderland in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.  Their Golden Horseshoe elopement was simply magical, and the joy that filled our venue that day was simply unforgettable!  Boy, do these two know how to light up a room!  My cheeks practically hurt from smiling so much, as […]
