Skyline Drive Elopement Claire and Michael 11.6.20

We were so lucky to work with Claire and Michael to plan their super fun, out of the ordinary elopement!  We loved hearing about all their special plans for the day, including a post elopement excursion to the arcade (where they had their first date!) to play video games and enjoy their favorite snacks!!!  From the moment I first met them, almost a year before their wedding day, I absolutely adored them!  These two are so down to earth, and kind and sweet. Like, SO sweet 🙂  I’ll never forget the lovely note I found in my inbox, way back in March when the pandemic first hit.  I (understandably!) had a flood of emails from concerned couples wanting to know our plans and our policies and our predictions for the year ahead.  And amongst all those was the sweetest email from Claire.  It had a funny picture attached and simply said “It’s been a rough few weeks and I’m sure you all are feeling it too. Just wanted to send some love!”  That’s the kind of people these two are and it was such fun to spend the day with them!  Claire choose a woodsy inspired color scheme of greens a soft yellow.  These colors were reflected in her bouquet of greenery, sunflowers, and even a few little pinecones tucked in as a nod to the season.  The first week of November is my personal favorite week of the year for weddings.  It’s when the hustle and bustle of October is over and a calm quiet seems to descend on the mountains.  There is still some pretty leaf color, but fewer crowds of people on Skyline drive.   And this year, the first week of November had the most glorious weather ever!  It was warm and sunny with a bright blue sky – simply perfect!  I am so excited to share some favorite images from this wonderful Virginia elopement package…

Congratulations to the happy couple!

-xoxo Heather
