I’m a little lost for words… Glowingly happy. Radiantly in love. Gentle devotion. Stunningly beautiful… all of these words describe Marlene and Gary’s wedding day, but they also fall a little short in describing how breathtaking, how romantic, how special this mountain elopement was. Thank goodness for pictures. As you scroll through, you’ll understand. You’ll see the pure love between this stunning bride and groom. You’ll see the joy and the silly giggles and the serenity they find in each other’s arms. It was a simply magical day to be a part of. There is a lot to be said for a traditional wedding gown, but I’ll admit that my heart does a little flutter of happiness when a bride brings a non traditional gown to wear. Marlene was simply a vision to behold. I want her to be my new “shopping bff”!!! She has an eye for detail, and for putting pieces together to create the most perfect look. Her layered tulle skirt was a soft grey with blue undertones. Her bodice added just the right touch of sparkle, and her pale blush floral belt pulled the entire look together. I could have photographed her until the sun went down – a joyful, natural and fun loving bride – the perfect dream come true! Gary was equally dapper, easy to talk to, and ready for the big day! Truly our only obstacle was the heat…a heat wave made its way to Virginia, and we all drank lemonade by the gallon, and popped in and out of the Golden Horseshoe Inn for much needed “air conditioning breaks” during our photo shoot. But we were having too much fun to care much about the heat. And it is also fun to head up to the mountaintop where it is always 10-15 degree’s cooler, and where the mountain breeze feels like heaven. I am just so darn excited to share some of my favorite images (it was HARD to narrow it down to just a few!) from this blue ridge mountains elopement…
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
ps – Marlene’s engagement ring is a “London Blue Topaz”, because I know you’re probably as obsessed as I am 🙂
