Sweet Virginia Elopement Laura and Jonathan 3.14.21

The sights and sounds of a wedding day can sometimes overwhelm the senses.  So much beauty to take in, so many emotions, so much joy.  The sights and sounds that will stick with me from Laura and Jonathan’s beautiful Virginia elopement are…the way the sunlight made their diamonds sparkle as I took photos of their wedding bands outside.  The welcome warmth of this beautiful March day, one of the very first warm days of the year.  And mostly, the sound of the wind as it swept its way down the mountain.  During their outdoor wedding ceremony, it felt like, to me, that the whole world was sighing with us in delight, and joy, as it witnessed this incredible day and made Laura’s delicate veil dance in the breeze.  How fitting that Laura and Jonathan should be married on the day “the light came back”, the first day after the spring time change.  These two are simply head over heels in love.  Their joy, excitement and anticipation at being wed was evident from their very first phone calls and emails with me, as we searched for a date that might work for them.  Jonathan was so sweet, so excited, and so adoring of his bride to be.  Laura and her mom visited with us ahead of time, and together we planned a day full of delightful details.  A soft blue color scheme with touches of greenery.  In Laura’s words “simple beauty”.  On her wedding day Laura was much more than simple beauty in her gown and what we joked were her “Cinderella shoes” – she was breathtaking.  Kind and joyful on the inside and gorgeous on the outside – what a perfect pair these two are.  I feel honored and blessed that I got to share in this love story, and I am so excited for you to see a sneak peek of some favorite images from this wonderful wedding day…

Congratulations to the happy couple!
