UVA Alumni Elopement Sha and Xinyu 9.12.20

The lightly misting rain could not diminish the spirits of the lovely group gathered to celebrate the intimate wedding of Sha and Xinyu. This adventurous and well traveled couple had originally planned a destination wedding in Antarctica, but due to the pandemic, changed their plans to an intimate wedding closer to their current home, and near to their alma mater the University of Virginia. With both their families in China, Sha and Xinyu were joined by a special group of friends who helped them celebrate in the most beautiful way. Lindsay helped with hair and makeup, Mike got some behind the scenes photos, and everyone took a turn with the polaroid camera, having fun and making memories for our couple to cherish. Sha and Xinyu provided postcards from their favorite places around the world for guests to write a special note on. And a gift bag was presented to each attendee, featuring hand sanitizer, candy and other special goodies. After the cake cutting, there were several special performances and a fun round of the shoe game! Speaking of shoes…when I first met Sha and Xinyu to plan their special day, Sha brought her wedding shoes with her, to help me get a feel for their style and color preferences. Can I just say “Wow”. Those shoes. Those SHOES~!~!~! Sha treated herself to a very special pair of Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes, and and pair of Jimmy Choo’s for her second dress. And she couldn’t resist the special edition 10th anniversary Manolo’s as well – my kind of girl! Those special shoes were so much fun to use in the wedding detail photos! Even though rainy days are never what we wish for, they do open the door for some beautifully romantic umbrella photos – and Sha and Xinyu did such a great job during their wedding photos.
