Virginia Afternoon Tea Wedding 1.21.23 Erin and Wes

I love seeing all the beautiful ways our brides and grooms personalize the “look” of their wedding day…and every so often a bride will choose exactly what I might choose for myself which feels extra fun (!)…and that brings me to Erin and Wes’s gorgeous afternoon tea wedding! I was so delighted when this sweet couple chose the beautiful blue damask overlays (my favorite!) that only a few of our couples choose each year. I think the delicate mix of blue and white perfectly evokes an English tea, and is gorgeous in its old fashioned charm! Erin was stunning in her lace gown, and her groom Wes looked so handsome in his suit (complete with a special cat themed tie clip, a surprise for his wife-to-be who loves animals)! You can also see this happy family, pets and all (!) represented in the adorable wooden cake topper that they brought. We enjoyed an easy morning of getting ready time, followed by a lovely indoor ceremony officiated by the father of the groom and featuring special readings given by both the sister of the bride and the sister of the groom. The celebration that followed was a fireside tea complete with cake, toasts and dancing. A bubble send off helped finish the festivities at the venue, and then we departed for some (chilly!) but INCREDIBLE photos on Skyline Drive (they are SO pretty, I can’t wait to share them below!!!).
