I knocked on the groom’s suite door as the sounds of happy chatting and laughter escaped from behind it. The knob turned, and our groom appeared. “Ah, Ray” I said, hopefully glancing down at his feet -“oh, gosh, you’ve got your shoes on already”. I needed those shoes to apply a very sweet set of stickers that our bride Crissy had given me for a photo. Ray’s eyebrows raised with a smile as I made my request and he shrugged good natured-ly and pulled his boots back off. Sweet. Good Natured. Easy. That little interaction perfectly describes Crissy and Ray’s wedding day! Back in the bridal suite, boots in hand, I applied the stickers to Crissy (“I Do!”) and Ray’s (“Me Too!”) shoes, under the watchful eye of Jr. Bridesmaid Maddy. “We need one more set of stickers” she said, glancing at my handiwork. “What would they say?” I asked…“I don’t” Maddy replied with a wistful smile. Her dear, beloved Aunt Crissy was getting married and moving away! I honestly have never seen such a sweet, overwhelming amount of love and care heaped on a bride by her friends and family. From what I can gather, EVERYONE loves Crissy so, so much~! This was such a happy day as these long time sweethearts celebrated their wedding. But the very next day, Crissy was moving to Mississippi to join Ray in her brand new life, so there were definitely some sad tears mixed with all the happy ones! We know Crissy and Ray will have a wonderful adventure as they settle in to their new home and life in Mississippi! I’m sure they will put as much care and thought into their new home as they did into their amazing wedding day! Crissy chose a beautiful rustic theme for her big day, a color scheme of Navy and Burgundy with bright bursts of color from sunflowers! Sunflowers peeked out from atop the wedding cake, and from the bouquets that were handmade by Crissy and her sister. Guests were welcomed with mason jars of sweet tea, and found a sweet puzzle piece magnet awaiting them at their dinner plates. Our bride and groom shared a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony. After lots of hugs and happy tears in the receiving line, I spirited Crissy and Ray up to the mountaintop, which was an extra adventure as thick fog greeted us on Skyline Drive and we had to do a little extra searching for the perfect spot! But true to Crissy and Ray’s relaxed nature, they didn’t worry about the fog and had the best time together as we trekked out onto the rocks! Safely back at the Golden Horseshoe Inn, a lovely feast awaited, prepared with love by caterer and friend of the bride, Missy. Dancing, Cake, and a thorough decorating of the getaway car finished the evening out! I am so excited to share some favorite images from this incredible love-filled day…
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
