Yellow and Silver Virginia Wedding Day – Amanda and Patrick 8.10.19

“You are the cherry on my cake; you make the sun shine brighter; you make my heart flutter.”

-LOVE by Eric Carle

Yellow is the happiest color I think!  And this was certainly the happiest wedding day!  Amanda and Patrick celebrated their August wedding with a cheerful and vibrant silver and yellow color scheme and a private ceremony and reception.  I really did love Amanda and Patrick from the moment I met them!  They are relaxed and easy going and have done an amazing job of creating a small business together and growing it into a wonderful success!  They run a printing shop that puts photographs onto wood, and they made several custom pieces for their own wedding day, which you’ll get to see below!  My favorite was the “surprise” sign that Amanda asked us to put out just before she and her dad walked down the aisle!  It said “Dad, of all the walks we have taken together…this one is my favorite” – what a fun moment when her dad saw that sign!   Amanda and Patrick’s little son Daniel was a fantastic ring bearer, and looked so adorable in his yellow shoes and bow tie!  He did a wonderful job of his “toast” which was a reading from the Eric Carle book Love. Amanda has a quiet beauty that suddenly astonishes you!  She is so warm and genuine and easy to talk to, that in the midst of conversation, you are suddenly struck by how gorgeous she is!  I have been spying a little patch of wildflowers on the mountaintop this summer, and knew that Amanda was the perfect bride to pose in them!  When I suggested the idea, she gamely waded thru the tall grasses, and the beautiful photo I had always envisioned when I passed by those flowers, was brought to life – you’ll get to see it below!  Patrick was so much fun to hang out with – such a down to earth, funny and genuine guy, who looked so handsome in his wedding attire of soft gray and yellow.  If you need any more proof of how amazing these guys are, I will share with you that they included a second cake for their reception guests “in case there are chocolate lovers!”, and that their dinner was a quesadilla bar catered by their favorite Mexican restaurant – yep, this wedding was fun AND delicious!!!   I loved every minute spent with this incredible family, as well as their closest family and friends (special shout out to Levi, who tore up the dance floor with the best moves we’ve seen all year!).  I’m so excited to share some of the special moments from this fantastic wedding day!

Congratulations to the newlyweds from the entire GHI family!

-xoxo Heather
