Blue Ridge Mountains Autumn Wedding Day – Diana and Danny 10.19.19

It has been such a joy for me this year, that my oldest daughter Isabel has joined the GHI team and helps us on certain wedding weekends (when AP Bio isn’t bogging her down!).  Since she was a little girl she has always been very in tune to moods, and atmospheres and has always appreciated the little details that make a day special.  She instantly fell in love with the color scheme for Diana and Danny’s wedding when we arrived early on the wedding morning to begin preparations.  And later in the day, as the dinner dishes were being cleared and the first dance was about to begin she pulled me aside and whispered “there is just something extra special about a wedding in the fall, isn’t there mom?”  She went on to explain “It always feels extra special and cozy, when it is dark and the wind is blowing outside, but inside, the people are celebrating and happy” and I think that sums up Diana and Danny’s gorgeous, cozy, romantic wedding day just perfectly!  There was something special in the air last Saturday!  Diana had been faithfully checking her wedding day countdown, and after 542 (!)days of planning, the big day had finally arrived!  So much thought, and love and effort was put into each detail for this wedding!  Diana’s dad built not only the wooden entry doors (using doors from his own home!), but also the wedding arch!  Each guest was treated to all the hallmarks of an Autumn celebration…hot apple cider, mini pumpkin and apple pies, and beautiful mums and pumpkins around every corner!  Danny and Diana even gave a sweet nod to the dating site where they first met (see if you can figure it out from the photos below!)  You’ll also be able to spy a few of their engagement photos amongst the decor (I had the fun of taking those exactly a year before their wedding day!)  These are two of the sweetest souls you could ever hope to meet.  A perfectly matched couple!  After a lovely “first look” we snuck away to the mountain top for a photo adventure, and found a special place for bride and groom to read their personal vows to one another ahead of the wedding ceremony.  Diana was just the most breathtaking bride.  Her gown, shoes, jewelry…every detail was simply perfect.  I could have photographed her for days <3 Her handsome groom Danny was fantastic, and is famous for always being on time!  He was true to form on the wedding day, sneaking away for breakfast and returning at the perfect moment for his “getting ready” and First Look photos!  We were excited that Diana and Danny chose us to create a wedding film for them as well, and can’t wait to relive all our favorite moments from the special day as we work on that special project.  For now, we have some breathtaking photos to share, of a quintessential autumn wedding day…

Congratulations to the newlyweds!

-xoxo Heather
