Sweetest Mountain Elopement – Lauryn and David 4.18.25

On March 28th, Lauryn and David were supposed to be standing in a sandy tropical paradise in Jamaica, joined by their families and saying “I do”.  But, plot twist… half way through March, the whole world was changed by a global pandemic. And so it was that April 18th found this incredibly sweet couple sharing their vows in a “socially distanced” elopement ceremony for just the two of them in the windswept mountains of Virginia.  It was a long and twisting path that brought Lauryn and David our way, but we are so thankful we had the opportunity to get to know them and have them join the Golden Horseshoe family.  Although plan after plan fell through leading up to their wedding day, the day itself was simply magical.  Brilliant blue skies and puffy white clouds that sailed by in the gusty breeze.  Sunshine sparkling on the pink and white blossoms of April.  Laughs and advice shared with family via facetime.  It was so much fun to “virtually” meet the families of the bride and groom, and our assistant wedding planner Monique and I knew they were placing their trust in us to create the most beautiful day for Lauryn and David.  Lauryn’s family, all the way down south in Florida were still filled with joy, and dressed up in the clothes they would have worn on the wedding day.  They cheered Lauryn on from facetime and took family photos of their own in their front yard to commemorate this special day!  Over in the groom’s suite, David’s family was gathered via facetime to wish him well and share advice on tying his tie!   it was so much fun to hear all the happy exclamations and support.  A beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony was followed by photos on the grounds.  The pink blossoms on the trees are always so fleeting, but it seemed they were blooming just for this special day!  We warmed up inside with a toast and the cutest cake cutting ever!   Our bride and groom were so thoughtful, so joyful and so much fun to spend time with.  Lauryn brought some lovely details including a pink perfume that matched her color scheme perfectly and a gift of custom socks for her groom.  She also carried a lovely tribute to both her grandmothers in the form of a special locket on her bouquet.  We know they were looking down from heaven and smiling on her.   Coming soon will be a wonderful wedding highlight film for Lauryn and David, so that their friends and family can experience this wedding day in even more detail.  For now, I am very excited to share some favorite photos from this breathtaking Virginia elopement…

Congratulations to the newlyweds from the entire Golden Horseshoe Inn family!

-xoxo Heather
