It was a chilly but beautiful day in the Blue ridge mountains for Jessica and Corey’s lovely winter elopement! I already knew that Jessica would be a bold and daring bride, as she shared with me in one of our planning emails that she had just hand dyed the bottom of her wedding gown herself, into a black ombre. So I was very excited to meet her, and of course to see her dress! Jessica is creative and talented, and even hand painted her wedding cake topper to match her newly dyed dress (you’ll get to see photos of both below!). Our groom Corey, and his family arrived a little later in the day, and it was a joy to meet them as well, especially Corey’s Mamaw who had a few tricks up her sleeve, and conspired with our officiant Monique, to be able to help pronounce the couple at the conclusion of their ceremony! I had plenty of fun photographing all the pretty details of this wedding day, in the bold colors of black, white and red that our couple chose. There was snow on the ground and a chill in the air, but Corey and Jessica were brave enough to venture outside with me to take some fun photos on the grounds (with a few little breaks to warm up, thrown in for good measure!). We finished the celebration with a toast, first dance, and cake and coffee. It was a unique and gorgeous wedding day, and I am so excited to share a little sneak peek of some favorite photos…
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
